Instagram has no built-in download option for Reels. dltkk.to fills that gap. Paste any public Reel's link and save it as an MP4 to your device in seconds — no watermark, no account required, works on iPhone, Android, and desktop.
After the download completes in Safari on iPhone, tap the download arrow icon in Safari's toolbar to open the downloads panel. Tap the video file to preview it, then tap the Share icon and choose Save Video. The Reel saves to your iPhone Camera Roll in the Videos album. From there it plays in the Photos app and is available to share via iMessage or AirDrop. Full step-by-step guide: Save Instagram Reels to Photos.
On Android, open Chrome and go to dltkk.to. Paste the Reel link, select MP4, tap Download. The file saves automatically to your Android Downloads folder and appears in your Gallery app without any additional steps. Tap the video in Gallery to play it full screen. On Samsung devices it also appears in the Samsung Gallery Downloads album.
On Windows or Mac, go to instagram.com and navigate to the Reel. Copy the URL from the browser address bar (it will contain /reel/ in the path). Go to dltkk.to in another tab, paste the URL, select MP4 or MP3, and click Download. The file saves to your browser's default downloads folder. On Windows press Ctrl+J to find it. On Mac press Cmd+Option+L in Safari.
Instagram Reels are in 9:16 vertical format — identical to TikTok and YouTube Shorts format. A downloaded Reel is immediately ready to upload to either platform without any editing or format conversion. Open TikTok, tap the plus button, select from Gallery, choose your downloaded Reel, and post. On YouTube, tap the plus button, create a Short, upload from Gallery. The aspect ratio, resolution, and container format are all correct for both platforms without any additional work.
Instagram creators delete Reels regularly — when they rebrand, when they post an updated version, or when their account becomes inactive. Instagram's algorithm also removes content that violates policies, and third-party music licenses occasionally cause previously available Reels to be muted or removed. If a Reel is valuable to you, download it when you find it. Relying on Instagram's saved posts feature is not a reliable archive because saved content disappears when the creator removes it. A downloaded file is permanent on your device.
Many Reels feature trending audio tracks worth saving independently. Select MP3 format when downloading to extract only the audio — the music, voiceover, or sound from the Reel — without downloading the full video. The MP3 saves as a standalone audio file dramatically smaller than the MP4, playable in any music app on your device.
